Jaime Jacobsen

M.F.A., ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Professor Jaime Jacobsen is the Director of the Center for Science Communication and an Assistant Professor of Journalism and Media Communication at CSU. She is an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker whose creative work and scholarship explores the intersection of scientific, cultural, and social justice issues, and engages the next generation of scientists and visual storytellers in the challenges of our time. Most recently, Jaime was the Principal Investigator on a $500,000 grant to co-produce “The Last Artifact” (2020), a feature-length documentary about the scientific community’s efforts to redefine the kilogram. To date, the film has won four international awards, screened at 18 film festivals, conferences, and scientific institutes, aired on PBS and the BBC, and has been adapted for use by educators across the world.
